Since around 1980, John Coles has specialised in the high-quality photography of some of the finest fine art and craft work in the country.
Operating a fully mobile service, he originally travelled the country producing images of exceptional colour fidelity for use in publicity materials, exhibition catalogues, magazines and specialist books.
Many of these books have become classics, such as 'Ceramic Faults and their Remedies' by Harry Fraser, 'Pottery Decoration - Contemporary Approaches' by John Gibson, and 'Quilt Studio' by Pauline Burbidge.
Today, John prefers to work in the controlled conditions of his Cornish studio, but from time to time he can be tempted out by the prospect of a particularly fascinating commission, or an inspiring location.
